WITH ALL THE ON-LINE BIODIESEL FORUMS, WHY WOULD I PURCHASE "THE A.B.C. 1-2-3" EDUCATIONAL PACKAGE?
There are over 10,000 on-line pages written about the processing of biodiesel. Unfortunately, like most of the content on the internet, most of it is misguided and worthless misinformation. At the very least, reading and implementing this information can be an extreme waste of time. At the very worst you may end up burning your house down, ending up in the hospital or worst yet, dead. Most of the on-line biodiesel information is written by home brewers, some is good, most is bad, the inconsistencies and contradictions alone will spin your head. Not with our package. "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" is created and authored by degreed engineers and scientists. We have already sifted through these on-line forums, we have 2 years of experience filtering the good from the bad, the right from the wrong. THE ATLAS BIO OPERATIONS MANUAL AND BIODIESEL EDUCATIONAL PACKAGE is comprehensive, written by scientists and engineers for you. Best of all, it works and that is the most important detail of all.

THERE ARE A LOT OF "KITS" AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. WHICH ONE SHOULD I BUY?

"The A.B.C. 1-2-3" includes two proprietary pieces of biodiesel equipment developed by our engineers to complement the array from our respective vendors. We created these because in order to create ASTM fuel they needed to be invented. These latter two pieces of equipment are available only to ATLAS BIO customers. We provide you with the .pdf plans to construct them in the most effective and affordable way. When integrated into "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system, you will have the cost-effective, best small-producers biodiesel equipment in the world.

WHAT IS BIODIESEL?
Biodiesel, n– a fuel comprised of mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats, designated B100, and meeting the requirements of ASTM D 6751.

Biodiesel (fatty acid alkyl esters) is a cleaner burning diesel replacement fuel made from natural, renewable sources such as new and used vegetable oils and animal fats. Just like petroleum diesel, biodiesel operates in compression-ignition engines. Blends of up to 20% biodiesel (mixed with petroleum diesel fuels) can be used in nearly all diesel equipment and are compatible with most storage and distribution equipment. These low-level blends (20% and less) generally do not require any engine modifications, however, users should consult their OEM and engine warranty statement. Biodiesel can provide the same payload capacity and as diesel. Higher blends, even pure biodiesel (100% biodiesel, or B100), may be able to be used in some engines (built since 1994) with little or no modification. However, engine manufacturers are concerned about the impact of B100 on engine durability. Additionally, B100 is generally not suitable for use in low temperature conditions.

Using biodiesel in a conventional diesel engine substantially reduces emissions of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, sulfates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and particulate matter. These reductions increase as the amount of biodiesel blended into diesel fuel increases. The best emission reductions are seen with B100. The use of biodiesel decreases the solid carbon fraction of particulate matter (since the oxygen in biodiesel enables more complete combustion to CO2) and reduces the sulfate fraction (biodiesel contains less than 15 ppm sulfur), while the soluble, or hydrocarbon, fraction stays the same or increases. Therefore, biodiesel works well with emission control technologies such as diesel oxidation catalysts (which reduce the soluble fraction of diesel particulate but not the solid carbon fraction).

Biodiesel has physical properties very similar to conventional petrol diesel #2.

WHAT IS ASTM D6751?
ASTM D6751 (ASTM=American Society for Testing and Materials) defines the physical and chemical specifications for biodiesel to be defined as fuel. The current 14 tests within ASTM D6751 prescribe the standards that biodiesel must adhere to in order to be defined as a usable alternative, U.S. Department of Energy recognized, fuel. The equipment we utilize and demonstrate in "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" guide exceeds these standards.

CAN I MIX BIODIESEL AND PETROL DIESEL #2?
Yes you can. Pure biodiesel is called B100 and is 100% biodiesel. Mixtures are referred to their percentage of biodiesel blend. Thus, B5 is a 5% biodiesel to 95% petrol diesel blend. B20 is a 20% biodiesel to 80% petrol diesel blend, etc. OEMs or Original Equipment Manufacturers of diesel engines will specify what blends are approved for each individual engine and vehicle.

CAN MY VEHICLE RUN ON BIODIESEL?
If you have a diesel vehicle it will run on biodiesel. Depending on the OEM specification unique to your engine and vehicle blends of biodiesel are more common. It is your responsibility to research your vehicle to make sure you don't void your warranty. Typically, OEMs are recommending up to 20% or B20 blends. But each OEM is different and each vehicle is different. We are not and cannot be responsible for your lack of research in this category. We can tell you our truths. Our 81' Mercedes 240D has been running on B100, 100% biodiesel, for two years. Our 06' Hummer H1 Alpha has been running on B50, 50% biodiesel, for 6 months. Do your research.

CAN I MAKE BIODIESEL?
Yes, and we show you how. Invest in "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system.

HOW MUCH DOES IT REALLY COST TO PRODUCE BIODIESEL?
Our chemical costs are right around $.85 per gallon. This fluctuates slightly with the methanol and sodium hydroxide chemical markets. Other costs are electricity, water, filters and most of all time. In addition, there are excise taxes you need to be aware of when you become legal. But with becoming legal you also have federal subsidies that are available in the form of tax credits. With all of these taken into consideration, we produce ASTM D6751 biodiesel for about $1.50 per gallon.

HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE BIODIESEL?
If you maximize your recommended biodiesel equipment, like we have, you can successfully produce about 65 gallons per week. That is, two batches of roughly 33 gallons per batch. 65 gallons per week equates to 260 gallons per month and 3120 gallons per year. If your vehicle(s) has an efficiency of 15 mpg, then you will have approximately 46,800 potential miles, per year, to drive on.

The following is a break down of the amount of time spent to produce such:

  • START
  • OIL COLLECTION: Variable and dependent upon your source. (Roughly 2 hours per week, active*).
  • MANUALLY FILTERING OIL: About 1 hour per 33 gallon batch. (Roughly 2 hours per week, active).
  • AUTOMATED FILTERING OIL: About 30 minutes per 33 gallon batch. (Roughly 1 hour per week, active).
  • TRANSFERRING OIL TO PROCESSOR: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • HEATING OIL IN PROCESSOR: About 45 minutes to 3 hours. (Roughly 4 hours per week, passive*).
  • TITRATION OF OIL: About 30 minutes per 33 gallon batch. (Roughly 1 hour per week, active).
  • CALCULATING CHEMICAL USAGE: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • MAKING METHOXIDE: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • INTRODUCING METHOXIDE TO PROCESSOR: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • PROCESSING OIL: About 3-4 hours per batch. (Roughly 7 hours per week, passive).
  • SEPARATING BIODIESEL/GLYCEROL: Overnight, about 18 hours (optimal) per batch. (Roughly 36 hours per week, passive).
  • DRAINING GLYCEROL: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • PREPARATION OF ACID PRE-WASH: About 5 minutes. (Roughly 10 minutes per week, active).
  • TRANSFERRING BIODIESEL TO WASH TANK: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • FIRST MIST WASH: About 2 hours per batch. (Roughly 4 hours per week, passive).
  • FIRST WASH SETTLE: Overnight, about 22 hours (optimal) per batch. (Roughly 44 hours per week, passive).
  • SECOND MIST WASH: About 2 hours per batch. (Roughly 4 hours per week, passive).
  • FIRST BUBBLE WASH: About 8 hours per batch. (Roughly 16 hours per week, passive).
  • SECOND WASH SETTLE: Overnight, about 14 hours (optimal) per batch. (Roughly 28 hours per week, passive).
  • THIRD MIST WASH: About 2 hours per batch. (Roughly 4 hours per week, passive).
  • SECOND BUBBLE WASH: About 8 hours per batch. (Roughly 16 hours per week, passive).
  • THIRD WASH SETTLE: Overnight, about 14 hours, or 38 hours (optimal) per batch. (Roughly 56 hours per week, passive).
  • TRANSFERRING BIODIESEL TO DRYER: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • DRYING BIODIESEL: About 30 minutes to 2 hours per batch. (Roughly 2 hours per week, active).
  • TRANSFERRING TO PUMP STATION: About 15 minutes per batch. (Roughly 30 minutes per week, active).
  • FINISH

"active*" = requires your active participation.
"passive*" = requires time, no active participation necessary.

Thus, it takes about 12.5 hours per week to produce 46,800 biodiesel miles per year at 15 mpg. Perfect for the hobbyist who enjoys terrorist-free fuel. Perfect for a business manager who can capitalize on idle employee time to make fuel for his/her fleet.

Special Note Here: The introduction of two additional Wash Tanks will increase your output to 195 gallons per week or 9360 gallons per year. Scaling your processing facility at a cost of roughly $250 per Wash Tank can increase capacity of your equipment to a maximum of 140,400 biodiesel miles per year at 15 mpg. In conclusion, an additional $500 and operating time can create enough biodiesel to power 14 standard household's* diesel #2 consumption in a year.

"standard household*" = 10,000 miles per year at 15 mpg.

THE PRODUCTION OF BIODIESEL NECESSITATES VEGETABLE OIL. HOW AND WHERE DO I GET IT?
You can purchase straight vegetable oil (SVO) from any grocery store or major food supplier, like CostCo. This is typically cost-ineffective. The most common method of obtaining vegetable oil is to build relationships with restaurants with vegetable oil fryers. "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" DVD's demonstrate how ATLAS BIO successfully obtains its vegetable oils.

THE PRODUCTION OF BIODIESEL NECESSITATES METHANOL (METHYL ALCOHOL) AND/OR ETHANOL. HOW AND WHERE DO I GET IT?
There are many ways to obtain methanol. The best way is to purchase it from a respected chemical company. Don't forget to grab the MSDS, read it and put it in the binder we provide!

THE PRODUCTION OF BIODIESEL NECESSITATES EITHER SODIUM HYDROXIDE OR POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE. HOW AND WHERE DO I GET IT?
Same as methanol.

WHAT IS THE ATLAS BIO GUARANTEE?
We cannot guarantee that the Sun will even rise tomorrow. Although, through inductive logic, we are pretty sure that it will. We guarantee that in utilizing our own "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system we have never failed ASTM D6751 spec. We show you exactly how we do it, the rest is up to you!

ARE THERE PARTNERSHIPS AND/OR INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES WITH ATLAS BIO?
Yes. We will entertain any serious inquiries you may have. Whether you are a vendor, supplier, customer, farmer or multi-national oil conglomerate, email us: , with your thoughts.

CAN BIODIESEL HELP THE ENVIRONMENT?
Totally dude. Biodiesel is the best alternative fuel in the world and here is why, biodiesel is:
More biodegradable than white sugar in the environment
Less than 1/10th as toxic as table salt if ingested
Has a flash point higher than petroleum diesel, making it fire safe
Provides excellent lubrication for engine components, reduces engine wear and increases the life of your vehicle (slower to the junk yard)

Pure biodiesel (B100) burns cleaner than petrol diesel, resulting in:
     >75% reduction in carbon dioxide, which is a green-house gas
     >50% reduction in soot and unburned hydrocarbons, which are pollutants
Nearly 100% less sulfur dioxide emissions, which causes acid rain

The diesel engine is already better for the environment when compared to the combustion engine. The thermal pollution caused by the combustion engine is far more detrimental to the environment than the compression-ignition of the diesel. The diesel burns cooler and thermally cleaner. Unfortunately the diesel received a bad reputation when everyone saw this big black cloud being emitted out of diesel vehicles. The visual image of this convinced people that diesel were worse polluters than other types of engines. What these people didn't know, or understand, is that most of that black soot is captured quickly in the atmosphere and falls back down. Unlike gasoline engines which burn at a higher temperature and send their nasty emissions straight into the ozone layer. You know that big hole in the ozone layer? Blame the combustion engine on that.

The best thing about diesels today are the new technologies that are being developed. If you have any doubts, go test drive the new Mercedes E320. Run that on biodiesel and you have the most environmentally friendly vehicle in the world, period. Now you may doubt this last statement, but lets think about it. Take a hybrid for instance. It runs on gasoline and batteries. Gasoline is a horrible environmental pollutant and the batteries are charged by plugging into the electricity grid. 50% of the energy created on the grid comes from the burning of coal. Yes, coal. So I ask you, how in the hell is this an alternative that is better for the environment? And what happens when you need to "recycle" your car? Tell me that batteries aren't bad for the environment and I'll tell you to go surf The Hook in Santa Cruz on a Saturday morning wearing a pink wet-suit. That will teach you! The one caveat is the gas mileage of these hybrids. And perhaps that is enough to pull the blinder over the eyes of people who own these cars? I don't know. When I see these hybrids driving down the road I visualize the coal factories burning dirty and inefficiently transmitting electricity into the grid. Hybrids predominantly burn gasoline and coal, and that is a fact.

So if you want to be a real environmentalist, do what I did. Purchase an older Mercedes diesel. My favorite is my 81' 240D. I replaced all the rubber fuel lines with Viton. I have been running that car on 100% ASTM D6751 biodiesel, that I produced. I haven't been to a gas station in 9 months! That is a proactive approach. I do have some predictions for the future. Within the next ten years the most fuel efficient and environmentally friendly vehicle in the world will be a biodiesel/electric hybrid. The biodiesel you can produce when you implement "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" and the electricity will be produced from nuclear plants. That is it. Middle-east oil addiction solved and we benefited the environment during the process.

CAN BIODIESEL HELP FIGHT TERRORISM?
Indirectly, yes. By producing, purchasing, selling and/or using biodiesel you aren't consuming the middle-eastern alternative. For every gallon of petrol diesel you burn a significant amount of your dollars spent goes directly to the middle-east. We have no control how that money is handled or distributed. With biodiesel the money stays here in the United States. With biodiesel and petrol diesel being nearly equal, why spend your hard-earned money on anything but the American alternative?

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO NATURE IN USING BIODIESEL?
Biodiesel is nature. To get philosophical, all energy on our planet originated from the formation of our solar system and is continuously generated from our central star, the Sun. Previous to that is a billion year old process of forming and exploding stars. All elements found in nature heavier than iron were created from super-nova events, ie. exploding stars. Without getting too deep into Astronomy and Cosmology, when our solar system coalesced (probably from forces emanating from exploding stars) and the gravitational forces in its center reached the fusion point of hydrogen, our Sun was born. Since then, there has been a balance between gravity "falling inward" and the fusion of hydrogen "pushing outward". That is why our Sun remains relatively stable. I say relatively because there are some pretty amazing solar events and physics quandaries that will make your head spin. But for the basics of this f.a.q. lets just state that the Sun is pretty darn stable. Because of this, and due to numerous beautiful events, life formed on our planet. Part of this life is that of plants. Just like humans, plant store energy in the form of fat cells. Animals consume plants and other animals and through the dynamics and virtues of being organisms. These creatures, which we are among, store fat within their bodies for times of necessity. Plants work similarly, but unlike animals, plants consume water, carbon dioxide and sunlight. They store their energy in their own unique cellular structure. Here comes the beauty, when a plant comes to fruition and yields its children (fruits, seeds, nuts, etc.) they are rich with energy which ultimately originated from the Sun. The creation of biodiesel necessitates vegetable oil. Vegetable oil can come from thousands of possible crops and/or methods. The most common in the United States is the soy bean. In Europe its canola. But virtually any oil-rich plant can be utilized in the processing of biodiesel.

Vegetable oils are essential in the production of biodiesel. There are a number of ways to produce vegetable oil. The simplest is to press the living day lights out of what ever crop you harvest. For instance, olive oil. The first pressing of olives is called extra-virgin. Basically you get a screw press and squeeze the olive which releases the oils and leaves the solid materials aside. Another method of extracting oils involves hexane. Doesn't that just sound bad? It is. Hexane is a documented carcinogen and mutagen and poison and possible one of the worst chemicals ever invented on the planet. One problem with Capitalism is the ignorance of the effects of utilizing new technologies without checks and balances from the left. Hexane extraction is a perfect example. To make the extra 1% margin of oil extraction major manufacturers of vegetable oil use hexane. I am sure their stock-holders are happy, but at what cost? Regardless of my opinions on how to get vegetable oil, it is necessary in our biodiesel endeavor. So now that we have it, how do we make biodiesel out of it? Vegetable oil is full of stored fats. Lets call them glycerides. These are fairly complex carbon chains that we need to break down to make biodiesel. Break these down we utilize a process called transesterification. Transesterification introduces an alcohol and a catalyst to your vegetable oil. The glycerides, the tri, bi and mono-glycerides are split in this chemical reaction forming new carbon chains called methyl esters and a co-product glycerine. Specifically we are concerned with the former and there are 11 possible methyl ester chains, they are C:14-C:24. These methyl ester chains, when isolated and separated from the co-products of the transestrification process, perform remarkably similar to that of petrol diesel #2 when compression-ignited in a diesel engine. When processed correctly you will create these methyl ester chains and have them in a realistic pure form. This pure form is called ASTM D6751 biodiesel. Biodiesel is methyl esters and methyl esters are biodiesel.

Now I will go on one further diatribe. That is what the heck is petroleum? Some claim, and I believe this to be partially true, that petroleum is decayed dinosaurs. Some clever fellah, whom I don't know, even called petrol diesel, "dino-diesel". Now with this is the only exception on this entire website where I speculate. My hunch is that petroleum is the massive accumulation of all plant and animal matter that has existed before us. This includes the dinosaurs but is not limited to them. It is my opinion that petroleum is decayed life. It comes in the forms of carbon chains from the accumulation and degradation of basic cell structures. This includes ancient animal and plant fat cells which originally originated from the Sun. If my hunch is wrong it doesn't matter. If it is right it doesn't matter either. But the truth is, petroleum takes millions of years to produce and we are exponentially consuming it. When it runs out, it is out. If we are dependent, we will be s.o.l.

Lastly, on this f.a.q. and in regards to the natural benefits of biodiesel, I offer you this fact: The carbon dioxide emitted from the compression-ignition of biodiesel was captured by the plant during its lifetime. What does this mean? Ultimately, the burning of biodiesel does not add a net gain of carbon dioxide to the environment. What ever the plant captured during its life is re-released. The next generation of crops will utilize this carbon dioxide and use it in a positive cycle. Petroleum is the ugly step-child of our fuel needs. When you burn petroleum products, like diesel #2, you are releasing millions of years of carbon dioxide stored in the petroleum chemical chains. And unlike petroleum, biodiesel is a renewable resource. We can grow the vegetables necessary for the oils naturally, again and again and again.

That is why biodiesel is nature. When executed correctly we have a sustainable, renewable resource.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH BENEFITS IN USING BIODIESEL?
Pure biodiesel (B100) burns cleaner than petrol diesel, resulting in:
     >90% reduction in cancer risks, according to mutagenicity tests
     >75% reduction in carbon dioxide, which is poisonous
     >50% reduction in soot and unburned hydrocarbons, which cause health problems
Nearly 100% less sulfur dioxide emissions, which are also poisonous

These statistics were pulled directly from the U.S. Department of Energy's website. Because of these truths, a number of school districts are testing and or using biodiesel blends in their fleets. Here in Arizona, ATLAS BIO is working with two school districts. They tested our product and found it to be transparent and viable. We are negotiating contracts to supply them with large volumes within the next year. With this knowledge being stated, wouldn't you want your children to be driven in biodiesel powered busses? If your school district's diesel fleet isn't currently running on biodiesel, perhaps you can be their supplier in the future? At the very least your own personal biodiesel powered vehicle will emit less harmful emissions which is safer and healthier for you and your family.

I LOVE RECYCLING! DOES BIODIESEL PRODUCTION RECYCLE ANYTHING?
Heck yeah man. Recycling is biodiesel's wife and lover. Check this out. The utilization of other people's waste can be recycled into fuel. Currently there is a recycling revolution turned war out there. In Oregon, it is referred to as "The Portland Oil Wars". I have heard stories of actual fist-fights breaking out over used restaurant oil. Imagine that, people fighting to recycle used restaurant fryer oil. It think it is great. Kind of like a Green Fight Club.

Restaurants, in general, pay companies to dispose of their used vegetable oil. Typically they pay from $20 to $200 a month to have their used fryer oil handled for them. Unless there is major competition in your neck of the woods, you usually don't have to duke it out with another tatted-up hippie. Usually it just takes a handshake and a good service provided by you.

Back to the recycling aspect. Think of turning used vegetable oil as modern alchemy. The ancients wanted to turn lead into gold. You turn waste oil into ASTM D6751 which is as good as gold. Biodiesel is a recycler's dream project and "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" shows you the path to make the dream a reality.

I LOVE SAVING MONEY! DOES BIODIESEL PRODUCTION SAVE ME MONEY?
Yes, and lets do the math. Say you have a diesel truck that gets 15 miles to the gallon. Let us say you drive 15,000 miles a year. That means you currently consume 1,000 gallons of petrol diesel a year. If petrol diesel costs $3.00 a gallon, you spend $3,000 dollars a year on petrol diesel. Now, if you purchase "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system and follow our instructions, you will spend less than $3,000 to construct your biodiesel processing equipment. And, realistically, when you follow our instructions and pay your taxes, you will be able to produce biodiesel for less than $1.50 per gallon. By your second year you will have recovered your initial investment and from there-on-out you will be producing biodiesel to power your truck for 15,000 miles a year for about $1,500. It takes a little sweat equity, but if you are smart, here is a suggestion. After year two, take the $1,500 you would have spent on petrol diesel and put it into an educational I.R.A. for your kids. If you have an infant and do this now. With a modest interest rate of 7% and the beauty of compounding interest, in 16 years your kids I.R.A. will be worth no less than $40,000. If you have a number of vehicles in your family or a small farm or a small business fleet, extrapolate these numbers for each vehicle. Then the question you have to ask is Harvard, Yale or Stanford?

I AM AFRAID OF MY GOVERNMENT. CAN MAKING BIODIESEL LAND ME IN JAIL?
We all at one time or another have fears of "The Man". We are no exception. Can making biodiesel get you in trouble with the law? Yes, if you are stupid and don't do your homework. I would love a perfect world like Burning Man to exist all the time. Woodstock would be great. But as you know, these are and were temporary realities that are not sustainable. The truth is, regardless of your political views and belief systems about the government, we live in the best country in the world. The biggest responsibility you have to to do your part in supporting our Nation the right way. My Great-Uncle Gifford didn't take a German Mauser round in the knee for some government hating liberals to dodge their taxes. Currently, the U.S. government and the IRS has an exclusion from fuel excise taxes for small scale blenders who produce less than 400 gallons per calendar quarter. Don't rely on this figure, it may change in the near future and ATLAS BIO will not be held responsible if you get into trouble with the law. Nonetheless, your best bet is to file your paperwork, keep you head down and you mouth shut. When you start to produce biodiesel than your own personal use, get legal. Don't buy or sell or trade or barter or distribute your biodiesel without being legal. The taxes you pay go to building the roads and keeping the United States infrastructure going. It is your duty as an American, regardless of your political views, to do your part. If you have problems with the government do the right thing. Protest, write your Senator, lobby and fight for your beliefs. But don't insult our fallen troops by dodging your taxes. That is not our way.

I AM PROUD OF MY GOVERNMENT. CAN MAKING BIODIESEL MAKE UNCLE SAM HAPPY?
I love my government too. We live in the best country in the world and the most advanced and powerful civilization to ever exist in the known, charted regions of the Milky Way Galaxy. The question is can we make Uncle Sam Happy? Yes we can. File the paperwork we suggest. Do your homework to ensure that you are producing legally. "Robin Hoods" will argue taxes and legalization until they are blue in the face. Regardless of their argument, if you do it right, it works. It is a great solution for everyone involved; you, your family, your city, your state, your country. We will show you how. And if you are concerned about the petrol industry cracking down on us small biodiesel producers, don't be. All the big oil conglomerates divided and re-invented from the Rockafeller-era of Standard Oil love what we are doing. Why you ask? Because we are buffering out time for them. Their limited resource is running out. Even if we acquired 1% of their annual product market and revenue we allow them to sell that 1% of their product in the future. We are buying them time. And time, as you know, is money. When we initially did our research and constructed our equipment we had conspiracy fears. Specifically, we feared that the petrol industry would shut us down and hang us out to dry. This couldn't be further from the truth. The end is near for the petrol industry at large. Whether it be 10, 25 or 150 years, the end is coming. Right now the budding biodiesel industry is defining itself. What you can do is produce ASTM D6751 biodiesel, pay your taxes and take your vision to where ever you imagination can take you. This is why I love our country. America is the land of ingenuity, invention and industry. Capitalism works and America is Capitalism.

I HEARD THAT I CAN PUT STRAIGHT VEGETABLE OIL IN MY DIESEL. WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE?
Don't do it. About a year ago, on youtube, I watched a cute dread-locked hippie girl filter some used vegetable oil through some home-made, hand-cranked devise. She then poured the filtered oil directly into her Jetta TDI. She claimed that her car ran great. I just hope that her trust-fund will be able to buy her another diesel in the near future. Her engine will inevitably fail. Another example are these "kits" that add filters and heating devices directly into you engine compartment. These cost anywhere from $500 to $3000 and the manufacturers claim that they work great. But there is not a single manufacturer of these "kits" that will personally guarantee your engine will not be permanently damaged and destroyed by utilizing their products. That is scary! Here is the fact, vegetable oil is not fuel. It is not meant to be burned in a modern diesel engine. There are no ASTM specs for vegetable oil and I predict that there never will be.

When you ask if you can put straight vegetable oil in your diesel, I ask you if you can live off convenience store food? The direct answer is yes. You can live off Snickers Bars, Slim-Jim's, Coca-Cola and Funyons. But in short order you will be overweight, diabetic, your teeth will fall out and you will die of colon cancer. You want to keep your body and your diesel vehicle healthy. Don't feed you vehicle vegetable oil, I guarantee you will regret it in the long run.

I AM THINKING ABOUT BUYING A M-16 (AR15 RIFLE) OR GETTING INTO BIODIESEL. WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE?
God-bless the 2nd Amendment and God-bless Eugene Stoner, the inventor of the M-16 (AR15 RIFLE). In our fight against terrorism there is no better personal armament than the modern AR15. Today they call it the M4, the A4 and/or the T4. How ever you define it, this weapon is a beautiful piece of machinery. In the right hands, this work of art can defend your fellow soldier and perform beautifully on the battlefield. I can't knock you for wanting to own one of these weapons. In fact, there is a local armorer that produces the best variant on the market. If you are serious about purchasing one of these rifles go to the tactics llc website (click on this link). You won't be disappointed. Nonetheless, if you are in a toss up between purchasing a rifle or getting into biodiesel, I suggest the latter. Unless you are in the Army, there aren't many terrorists available to shoot here in the States. Your biodiesel equipment will do far greater good by stripping the terrorists in the middle-east of your fuel expenditures. After you invest in "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" educational system and produce biodiesel for a year, then purchase your rifle. The money you saved in not buying middle-eastern petrol diesel will justify the expense.

DOES THE TAIL-PIPE EXHAUST FROM THE COMPRESSION-IGNITION OF BIODIESEL REALLY SMELL LIKE FRENCH FRIES?
This is one of the biggest misconceptions out there. If your biodiesel exhaust smells like french fries you are in serious trouble. Our biodiesel is ASTM D6751 quality. Our processing procedures illustrated in "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system filters your raw oil to 5 microns. After processing and final filtering your biodiesel will be filtered to 1 micron. You will be left with 100% biodiesel. It smells different than diesel #2. Quite honestly, it smells damn good and has a very unique aroma. But if you smell french fries, chinese food or any other fried consumable, its time to get off the couch and filter your oil the right way.

DOES THE TAIL-PIPE EXHAUST FROM THE COMPRESSION-IGNITION OF BIODIESEL EMIT A BIG BLACK PLUME?
Nope! The bad reputation of diesel engine in the 70's and 80's was caused by black clouds coming from the vehicles at the time. It nearly was a death-blow to the entire diesel passenger vehicle market. ASTM D6751 biodiesel emits dramatically cleaner emissions. One of our test vehicles is a 1981 Mercedes 240D. If you rev the engine to high you will produce a small amount of white exhaust. Another one of our test vehicles is a 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha. We run it on a 50/50 blend of biodiesel and petrol diesel #2. There are virtually no noticeable emissions when we run this vehicle. It is truly amazing how clean biodiesel really burns.

I WOULD LOVE TO BUILD A BIODIESEL COMMUNITY. WHAT IS YOUR ADVISE?
A biodiesel community is a great idea, if executed correctly. I have two organic farmer friends that are developing a their farming business to integrate into the community in Durango, Colorado. There are many paths, the first step is understanding and building the equipment that it takes to produce ASTM quality fuel. After that, use your imagination and watch your bottom-line. There are many relationships to be made in building your biodiesel community. The most notable is your relationship with your vegetable oil supplier. Typically this will be a number of restaurants. Build good relationships with these people and provide an efficient pick-up service for them. "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" package show you how ATLAS BIO has successfully created these relationships. You can do it, remember, you eliminate a bill every month that they otherwise would have to pay to ship their oil way.

When you involve other people in your operation make sure they are like-minded, kindred spirits. Above all, make sure they pull their own weight. Free-loaders will be your Achilles Heal and we recommend you stay away from these types of people. Surround yourselves with hard-working, honest people and you will be fine. You are creative, build a solid foundation, and like branches from a tree-trunk your community can and will grow.

I WOULD LOVE TO BUILD A BIODIESEL BUSINESS. WHAT IS YOUR ADVISE?
Get legal. Creating ASTM D6751 biodiesel is the easy part when you implement the "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system. But to make a biodiesel business is entirely different story. The single most important step in creating a legal biodiesel business is registering with the IRS. Our package includes links to the tax forms and an example of how to fill those forms out. And, like every other legitimate business, you need to get all of the local permits and permissions to do so. Here is the catch, if you sell biodiesel and you are not legal, you will be fined and possibly go to jail. No joke.

WHY CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?
I don't know. Typically I can find some socially redeeming value in most of people I meet. But sometimes I can't. It wasn't too long ago that I was crashing on a friend's couch, smoking kind, drinking Bonny Doon Wine and embarking on an occasional surfing expedition to 3-mile, somewhere north of Santa Cruz. On one particular day, I was surfing a friend's long board (actually it was a "hybrid"). There and then, after months of paddling out and trying to catch a wave, I finally did. I was surfing dude! For one second. Just then, this buff, balding Agro, with heavy, ear-plugs and a 2-3 O'Neill short-suit, crosses in front of me. He started screaming, I remember that both of his hands were giving me the finger simultaneously while he was red-faced and yelling. Well, this threw me off, my tunnel-visioned focus on the wave was lost, I bailed. After swallowing a great deal of 52 degree sea-water, I re-surfaced from the throws of the wave. Then I watched "Ear-Plugs" finish that wave, riding it towards the beach. I watched him gracefully turn his board into the used wave and re-paddle out towards me. When he got within shouting-range he started screaming at me, "You dropped in on me! You transplant M^t#e$ f^(k@r!". My buddies were speechless. There I was, just caught the first wave of my life for 1000 micro-seconds and I apparently offended someone to the point of a possible violent fist-fight. Now, not being a Santa Cruz local, and being totally shocked by his anger ad mist my own elation of catching my first wave, I took the cowards way out and paddled to the right, away from the break and away from "Ear-Plugs". I passed my friends, in my paddle of shame, listening nothing but the silence of their shocked lips. Actually, "Ear-Plugs" was still yelling, I blocked that out and now need hypno just to remember the intensity of his insults.

I was totally bummed dude. I ended up so far right that I ended up having to swim with board in tow. The rest of the morning I sat on the beach and watched by buddies and "Ear-Plugs" surf. The tides were down so the waves were waning. I didn't miss much. After the day we all went and drank at Seabright Brewery. Another friend of mine, which happened to be local, heard what happened. What he told me made allot of sense. Apparently, "Ear-Plugs" was a good guy. He had been surfing that wave for his whole life. We wasn't some silicon-valley super genius that made millions in the bubble. He was a normal dude. He grew up there and he didn't have much. But, he had that wave. He rode that break so much that he needed special ear-plugs to prevent further sea-water, inner-ear infections. I was a newbie and, quite honestly, I had no business trying to surf there. I did "drop in on him". My tunnel-vision didn't even see him coming. Just like the pecking order of birds or the carnivore hierarchy of lions, the beaches of Santa Cruz are ruled by dominance and respect. It simply wasn't my place.

Can't we all get along? Sure, a few months later I saw "Ear-Plugs" at the 5-2-9. We both had beers in hand. I recognized him, he didn't even notice me. No apologies. I am glad that "Ear-Plugs" has his surf-break. I learned that there is a man, a time and a place. Right now "Ear-Plugs" has his wave and I have biodiesel. Unlike waves, there are more opportunities with biodiesel. We at ATLAS BIO are pioneers in the delivery of the best biodiesel education system for small producers in the world. To surf, you need a board, a wave and the desire. To surf well, you need a teacher. To make biodiesel, you need some oil, some chemicals and the desire. To make biodiesel well, you need a teacher.

ATLAS BIO's "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" package is "Ear-Plugs" taking you under his wings and teaching you how to surf.

WHY CAN'T WE KILL ALL THE TERRORISTS?
Spartans! What do you do? WHOORA, WHOORA, WHOORA! There is a time for peace and a time for war. Just ask our greatest generation, our grandparent's generation, about that. ATLAS BIO doesn't pretend or candy-coat any war philosophy. Our dependence on middle-eastern oil causes conflict. No one can argue that fact. The base problem, we as American's, are facing today is from middle-eastern extremists. These whack-a loons don't care for our civilization, our way of life or our belief systems; let alone do they care for their own lives. We are at war with these sub-humans and they will blow themselves up and their children along with them. For what? As an individual I can either join the Army or make my own fuel. I chose the latter. And when we end our dependence on middle-eastern oil then we must get out of that forsaken land. When their all of their natural resources are squandered they will be back to hacking each others heads off in the middle of their desert.

Every time you put petrol fuels into your vehicle some of your money will trickle its way into the hands of these mad-men. It makes us sick to our stomachs that our addiction to fuel puts our American money into the hands of terrorists. We at ATLAS BIO have created "The A.B.C. 1-2-3" system firstly for us to do the right thing, now it is available for you. By implementing our package you can do something better than killing terrorists. You create your own fuel. Let the suicidal, brain-washed wack-jobs kill each other; sending themselves back to the stone-age and/or straight to Allah. The humanist in me hopes that there will be peace some day. But as long as these monsters are willing and able to blow-up children, my understanding and sympathy is horribly degraded. I do not want to understand their philosophy, to me it is evil. I have no time dwelling on the evil of others. I, instead, concentrate on the good. Biodiesel is good.

In summary, stop watching re-runs of the Sopranos, and get to work. America was founded upon a true morality and a back-breaking work ethic. We have the freedom to choose what life we live.

We and our customers make biodiesel. What do you do?
